Rapid Diagnostics Test Kits

Malaria RDT kits

Introduction

There are four kinds of Malaria parasites that can infect humans: Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale and P. malariae.
The malaria  disease now occurs in 109 countries, and it is estimated  that around 250 million cases annually lead to approximately 1 million deaths (WHO 2008). At present, malaria is diagnosed by looking for parasites in a drop of blood with the below First Response® RDT kit by method based on principle of immune-chromatography.
First Response® RDT kit is intended for use by healthcare professionals and as qualitative screening in vitro diagnostic test for detection of Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale and P. malariae.

A. First Response® Malaria Ag. P/ falciparum (HRP2) card test

This test kit will detect P. falciparum specific HRP2 antigen in human blood.

Advantages:

  • 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity
  • Stable up to 40°C
  • High-tech nitrocellulose membrane is pre-coated with one monoclonal antibody specific to Histidine-rich protein 2 (HRP2) of the Plasmodium falciparum.
  • Test result available in 20 min.

B. First Response® Malaria Ag. pLDH / HRP2 Combo card test

Detects all 4  types of parasites i.e P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale and P. malariae.
Specific to Lactate Dehydrogenase (pLDH) of the Plasmodium species (Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale and P. malariae) and the other test of P.f. consists of a monoclonal antibody specific to Histidine-Rich Protein 2 (HRP2) of the Plasmodium falciparum (P.f) with hightech Nitro-cellulose membrane precoated with two monoclonal antibodies as two separate lines. One monoclonal antibody (test line PAN) is PAN specific to Lactate Dehydrogenase (pLDH) of the Plasmodium species (P. vivax, P. ovale and P. malariae) and the other line (test line P.f.) consists of a monoclonal antibody specific to Histidine-Rich Protein 2 (HRP2) of the Plasmodium falciparum.

Advantages:

  • Detects all 4 species of parasites

  • Detects as low as 200 parasites/µl (Inhouse studies)

  • Differential diagnosis between P. falciparum (HRP2) and Plasmodium (PAN / pLDH) species

  • Separate identification for P.f. and PAN species

  • Long shelf life up to 30 months

Dengue RDT kits

Introduction

Dengue fever is one of the most common mosquito-borne diseases in the world in the terms of morbidity and mortality. Dengue fever virus (serotypes 1 – 4) belongs to the group flavivirus, and is transmitted in nature by day-biting Aceder mosquitoes. The most important common mosquito vector is highly domesticated and urban species, Aedes aegypti. Primary Dengue infection, also known as Dengue Fever, is the most common type of dengue illness.
First Response® Dengue IgG/IgM Card Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay for the simultaneous detection of IgG and IgM antibodies to Dengue virus in human whole blood, serum or plasma. The assay is used as a screening test for Dengue viral infection and as an aid for differential diagnosis of primary and secondary infections in conjunction with other criteria.

Advantages:

  • Separate testing line for IgG and IgM, so diagnosing will be easy
  • Result in 20 min. time

  • Detection of antibodies to Dengue virus in human whole blood / serum / plasma

  • First Response® Dengue IgG / IgM Card Test has been tested using an in-house panel of Positive and Negative

  • Clinical samples confirmed by a leading commercial anti-dengue IgG & IgM ELISA kit

HIV RDT kits

Introduction

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is recognized as the etiologic agent of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The virus is transmitted by sexual contact, exposure to infected blood, certain body fluids or tissues, and from mother to fetus or child during the perinatal period.
The First Response® HIV 1-2.O Card Test is an immunochromatographic (rapid) qualitative test for the detection of antibodies of all classes specific to HIV-1 gp41, p24, including Group O and HIV-2 gp36 in human serum, plasma or whole blood.

First Response® HIV 1-2.0 Card test

First Response® HIV 1-2.O Card Test is intended for use in vitro diagnostic test for detection of antibodies of all classes specific to HIV-1 (including Group O) and HIV-2 in human serum, plasma or whole blood.
First Response® HIV 1-2.O Card Test is based on the principle of immune-chromatography in which nitrocellulose membrane is pre-coated with recombinant HIV-1 capture antigens (gp41 including Group O and p24) on test band “1” region and with recombinant HIV-2 capture antigen (gp36) on test band “2” region. This conjugated antigen-antibody complex moves through the nitrocellulose membrane and binds to the corresponding immobilised HIV 1 antigens and
HIV 2 antigen (Test Lines) leading to the formation of a colour visible line as the capture antigen-antibody conjugated antigen complex, indicating reactive results.

Advantages:

  • Specifically designed for whole blood, as well as serum and plasm

  • 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity

  • Detects antibodies gp41, p24, gp36

  • Helping in giving treatment for HIV 1 and HIV 2

  • Does not require cold chain and storage temp is 4°C - 30°C

First Response® HIV 1-2.O Card Test has been tested using an in-house panel of Positive and Negative clinical samples confirmed by a leading commercial anti-HIV 1&2 ELISA kit. The result shows that First Response® HIV 1-2.O Card Test is very accurate compared to other commercial ELISA kit. In a comparison of the First Response® HIV 1-2.O Card Test versus a leading commercial anti-HIV 1 & 2 ELISA and Rapid test, results gave a sensitivity of 100%, a specificity of 100% and a total agreement of 100%.
