Lifeshelter® Training - Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya

04-07-2015

Cash-for-work. Refugees was trained how to erect Lifeshelter®

The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) has - with the support of UNICEF funds - purchased several Lifeshelter® for the Kakuma Refugee Camp, Northwestern Kenya.
When the shelters were delivered in August 2015, our partner, Jakob Christensen, the developer of Lifeshelter®, went there to train some of the refugees in erecting Lifeshelter®.
A training schedule was planned and successfully executed. After a few days the refugees were able to erect Lifeshelter® by themselves.

Several Lifeshelter® have been erected in different locations in the enormous camp, that counts no less than 185.000 individuals. The shelters are used for different purposes i.e. field offices, reception center for LWF Child Protection and temporary home for newly arrived orphans.

The front porch solution is very popular here. The perfect place to chill out.

We are thrilled to be active with our Lifeshelter® in both The Middle East and Africa now.
