Product launch: ECOblanket

We are proud to announce, that we are now making the ECOblanket, a unique and innovatively designed product that offers comfort and warmth.

The ECOblanket is made from regenerated plastic bottles, reclaimed from the ocean, and collected from coastlines in South India.

We are facing an ocean plastic crisis. Every minute – every day, the equivalent of one garbage truck of plastic is dumped into the ocean. Unless immediate and sustained action is taken globally, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050. As plastic remains in the ocean for hundreds of years and may take hundreds of years to degrade, the cumulative amount of plastic in the ocean by 2050 could reach 600 million tonnes - equivalent in weight to more than 3 million blue whales.

The good thing is that it is never too late to do something about it, and this is exactly why we now introduce a blanket made from plastic waste.

How is the banket made?

The plastic bottles are collected at the coast lines of South India
They are sorted and cleaned
The bottles are torn into plastic flakes
Which are converted into smaller granulates
The granulates are extruded and spun into yarns
The yarns are knitted into a modern and sustainable fabric
The soft fabric is used to make a blanket

The blanket is made from 100% polyester. This makes it very suitable for recycling. Polyester is among the most durable fibers known to man, making ECOblanket very long lasting.

Don’t forget that it is never too late to act. Help us to save the oceans by supporting and buying  longer lasting and more sustainable solutions.

Real Relief. Making a real promise.
