The Danish “Folkemøde” or in English the “People's Democratic Festival” is an annual event in June on the island of Bornholm, Denmark

Kolding, Denmark, 24 June 2021

“Folkemødet” is a physical frame and a democratic ambition created by hundreds of organizations, associations, political parties and private companies.

The primary purpose is to strengthen Danish democracy by reducing the distance and increasing trust between citizens and business decision-makers, interest groups and politicians from the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) and the EU, the Danish municipalities and regions.

It is a Danish tradition that democracy is for everyone who wants to participate.

Real Relief’s CEO, Trine Angeline Sig, participated in several lively debates related to climate change, SDG´s and sustainable innovation and solutions.
