Welcoming our new partners from the Democratic Republic of Congo

Kolding, Denmark, 12 May; 2022

Recently, we have had the pleasure of welcoming our new partners from the Democratic Republic of Congo to our office in Kolding, Denmark.

A partnership agreement was signed with the aim of bringing our innovations to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Reliefnet, because Malaria is still one of the world’s deadliest diseases. Even after two decades of determined global fight to roll back the disease, malaria still claimed more than 400 000 lives in 2019 (World Malaria Report 2020).

Safepad, because it is our solution to improve the quality of life of girls and woman globally. It’s the first time an intelligent hygiene pad is introduced to the Congolese market, and we are very committed to serving woman in need of new and better alternatives in the country.

Supertowel, because handwashing is one of the most important and efficient public health interventions in the world. Every year, 1.8 million children do not live to celebrate their fifth birthday because of diarrheal diseases and pneumonia. Handwashing is among the most effective and inexpensive ways to prevent these diseases.

It was a very pleasant time spent and we now look forward to saving and/or improving lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

  • Safepad™, an antimicrobial and reusable sanitary pad, designed to provide a safe and infection free experience while in use. Safepad won the Danish Design Award 2018 in the category Daily Life.
  • Supertowel™, a reusable and highly durable towel that includes a permanently bonded anti-microbial layer. It is designed to provide clean hands without using soap and using only a small amount of water.
  • Reliefnet Reverte, Long Lasting Insecticide Incorporated Mosquito Net (LLIN), designed for prevention/control of malaria and other vector borne diseases.
Reliefnet Reverte introduces the Reverte component, which is an advanced oxo-biodegradable technology, that offers a solid solution to the end-of-useful-life problematic of LLIN’s. It will, if wrongfully left in the open environment, degrade until the point where naturally occurring microorganisms can absorb the net completely.
